Oxnard Airport - Taxiway A (Formerly Taxiway F) Reconstruction

Project Description:

Oxnard Airport’s Taxiway A (formerly known as F) is currently being reconstructed. The reconstruction of the taxiways is estimated to be complete on or about July 31, 2024. The construction efforts affect Taxiways A1, A2, A3, A4, and A5. The reconstruction efforts encompass milling out approximately 3,500 square yards of asphalt and laying down approximately 15,100 tons of asphalt to smooth out Taxiway A. Along with the pavement work, Department of Airports is taking this opportunity to update storm drain infrastructure in the area, install new lights/signs, and update striping.

Soil Excavation Note:  Pre-construction soil testing in accordance with a work plan approved by the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board found that the reported concentrations of PFAS did not exceed the applicable regulatory screening levels and therefore all excavated soil could be hauled offsite to a landfill as non-hazardous waste.  All soil excavated during the project will be hauled off for disposal during daytime project hours and will not be stockpiled onsite.

Other stockpiles associated with normal construction activities, like clean imported material and millings/grindings produced from the asphalt removal, may be seen onsite from time to time temporarily before placement. Any such stockpiles are not impacted by PFAS.

Project Schedule:

Due to the complexity of the project, the reconstruction is broken up into 3 phases. Work hours are set for 0700 to 1900. Contractors are scheduled to work Monday-Saturday. Below is the current construction schedule based on work that is being performed. This will be updated if there are any changes or delays to the schedule.
