Scheduled Radar Outage Happening Saturday & Sunday

Home

A scheduled radar outage will affect Camarillo Airport and Oxnard Airport beginning at 0700 on Saturday, March 21st, and ending Sunday, March 22nd, at 2100 local time. This scheduled outage is for maintenance of the radar system. Restoration of radar service is expected prior to the towers opening at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 23rd.

Please expect the following changes to aircraft operations at both OXR and CMA during the outage:

    1. Pattern work (touch-and-go operations) will not be accommodated
    2. Practice approaches will be limited or unavailable
    3. VFR traffic may experience delays
    4. Reduced overall traffic handling capacity

Separately, a TBM fly-in event (safety seminar) is scheduled for this weekend at CMA.

The towers will prioritize safe operations in a non-radar environment.
