Upcoming Community Meetings/Public Hearings

The Ventura County Department of Airports is eager to provide an update on the Part 150 Noise Compatibility Studies for Oxnard and Camarillo Airports as well as the Approach and Procedure Analysis for Camarillo Airport. Please note that, for historical context, we have attached the March 14th community communication that outlines changes with the Approach and Procedures study. We have also attached the legal notice and display advertisement that is now being circulated through local newspapers. Details related to this information are in the message below.

The FAR Part 150 Noise Compatibility Studies for both Camarillo and Oxnard Airports have been broken up into two parts: (1) The NEM or Noise Exposure Map, and (2) the NCP or Noise Compatibility Plan. The NEMs for both airports have been submitted and accepted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Department of Airports is now working to finalize the NCPs. The completion of the NCPs for both airports includes a public comment component. The comment period for both airports is now open. Comments may be made by utilizing the links listed below, by written communication mailed directly to the Department of Airports, or in person at the upcoming public hearings. (See information below.) Comments will be accepted through August 18th (Camarillo Airport) and August 19th (Oxnard Airport).

Upcoming Public Meetings

Camarillo: Monday, August 4th , 2025,  6 p.m.  at the Ventura County Office of Education, 5100 Adolfo Road, Camarillo

The first portion of this meeting will focus on an overview of the Part 150 Study and the Approach and Procedure Analysis for Camarillo Airport, with a presentation from the Department of Airports and its consultants, Mead & Hunt and Flight Tech. The public will have an opportunity to participate in the dialogue of this presentation with a question-and-answer segment that will follow the presentation. Question cards will be available at the start of the meeting for the community to utilize. Question cards will be read by the meeting moderator. This portion of the meeting will end no later than 7 p.m.

The second portion of the meeting will begin promptly at 7 p.m. and will serve as the public hearing for the Noise Compatibility Plan for Camarillo Airport, with hearing instructions  presented by the Department of Airports’ consultants, Coffman and Associates. The public will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the Noise Compatibility Plan at this time, however there will not be responses/dialogue from the Department of Airports or its consultants. All responses will be recorded as part of the final Part 150 documents.

The Airports’ team and its consultants will be available following the public hearing should there be any questions we did not get to during the first Q & A session or any other remaining questions.

Oxnard: Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Oxnard North (formerly Courtyard by Marriott Oxnard), 600 E. Esplanade Drive, Oxnard

The first portion of this meeting will focus on a presentation from the Department of Airports regarding an overview of the Part 150 Study. The public will have an opportunity to participate in the dialogue of this presentation with a question-and-answer segment that will follow the presentation. Question cards will be available at the start of the meeting for the community to utilize. Question cards will be read by the meeting moderator. This portion of the meeting will end no later than 7 p.m.

The second portion of the meeting will begin promptly at 7 p.m. and will serve as the public hearing for the Noise Compatibility Plan for Oxnard Airport with information presented by the Department of Airports’ consultants, Coffman and Associates.
